The
skin is the largest organ in the body. It is remarkably
resistant to wear and tear of everyday life but
occasionally it might be affected by minor injuries. The
surface of the skin may be broken by small cuts and
scrapes. A cut in the skin may be irregular or clearly
demarcated e.g. a cut by a knife. Scrapes occur when the
skin rubs against a rough surface and is damaged.
These
are common everyday problems. The rate at which this small
wound heals varies from individual to individual,
depending on the person’s body’s self healing properties.
For some the body’s self healing rate can be fast. For
others, it may take a longer time. This problem can be
aggravated if the wound is located in an area where
mobility like the elbow, the fingers or the sole of the
foot.
The complication comes when the wound is infected. Pus is
the whitish-greenish/yellow substance produced during
inflammatory response in the wound area indicating
infection has set in.
Problems Associated with Wounds
-
slough formation problem
-
bacteria infection problem
-
inflammation problem
-
exudates problem
- non
– regeneration problem
-
toxin problem
Treatment
must be Holistic
-
it must have antitoxin properties to immediately
neutralize the toxin due to the bacteria activity
-
it must have antibacterial properties to effectively act
on the bacteria, stopping the rot immediately
-
the medication must permeate into the skin and at the
same time provides a protecting covering over the wound
to prevent any further infection.
-
it must effectively prevent slough formation around the
wound
-
it must have tissue regeneration properties draws blood
to the wound area.
-
then
the high concentration of blood (the wound is raw –
tomato red) allows the red granulation tissue to form
faster
Herbal
Formulations
Herbal formulations are
products that have been perfected over thousands of years
of actual clinical herbal experience. Each generation of
herbal doctors’ build on the foundational scientific
knowledge of the previous generation. The accumulation of
this time-tested and product tested herbal clinical
knowledge allows this perfection to take place. This is
how safe and true formulation is perfected over
time-evidences based on the actual results of users. Each
generation of herbal doctors (all with 40 to 50 years of
experience) built on the clinical herbal foundation of the
previous generations. Hence the herbal formulae are
perfected and developed.
Prevention
-
Clean the wound with soap and water or Chinese tea
-
Make sure all the dirt has been removed
-
Pad
the wound dry
-
Quickly apply the medication on to the wound
-
If
possible leave the wound uncovered to ensure the healing
is not disturbed (the effective antibacterial properties
of the tincture is sufficient to protect the wound from
infection)
-
If
you are working in a dusty environment, then cover the
wound while you are in your work place (each time you
dress your wound and remove the dressing you disturb the
healing process and the wound may take longer time to
heal)
