Types of Burn
First Degree Burns
Burns that affects the epidermis (top layer) is called
first degree burns and is least severe. The burned area
may be red, slightly swollen and sensitive to touch but
blisters do not form. Normally, within a few days, the
skin heals and the damaged layer of skin peels off. Sun
burn is the most common causes of first degree burns.
Second Degree Burns
Damaged to the first layer (epidermis) and the second
layer (dermis) is called second degree burns. It is
usually a very painful experience. The econ layer
becomes red and covered with large blisters filled with
clear liquid (exudate). Normally after 3 days the pain
usually decreases. Most second degree burns should fully
be healed within 14.
Third Degree Burns
The most serious is third degree
burns and this is the deepest type of burns in which the
epidermis, the dermis and the underlying fat are
destroyed. Some times the damage may extend to the
muscle. The area becomes numb, thickened and discoloured.
Normally the healing would be very slow because the
damaged dermis cannot regenerate itself and new skin can
grow only from the edges of the damaged area.
Treatment
To treat burns effective a product must have the
following functions:
-
it must have analgesic properties i.e. removes pain
-
it must have antiexudate properties i.e. preventing
exudates (the clear liquid) from flowing
-
it must have anti-inflammatory properties
-
it must improves blood vascular capillary system
-
it must have excellent anti-biotic effect
-
it must have effective micro-circulation
and tissue regeneration properties to effectively increase the
process of wound healing.
Can
dead cells be regenerated? If science cannot
explain, it does not mean it cannot happen. For the last
few thousand years ancient scientists and modern
scientists have been discovering new things. Up till
today, we are still discovering new things. Perhaps one
day science can find out how some products possess
unique rejuvenation properties and can make dead cells
fully regenerate itself.
The
method to treat burn is to quickly spray generously any
oilment on the affected area within 15 – 20 seconds
(before blisters form) and repeat for 6 to 7 times at
every minute interval. If the product is holistic then
there should not be any blisters or exudates.
